Lenore's Walk Diary | Email Me

Columbus, Texas Event
02/08/2004

This is a Sunday Walk following the Texas Volkssport Association's General Assembly Meeting on Saturday. It was a nice walk in an area with historici homes and big tree, some of which were in the middle of the streets. The day was overcast, windy and cool (50 deg when we finished). Thanks to the Friendswood Fun Walkers for hosting this event.

Carol and Lenore registering.

Pretty flowers on fence.

Tulip Tree in bloom behind this house.

The walk went by the Colorado River.

This walk had lots of nice homes and large trees.

Our checkpoint volunteer and a lady walking.

There was a playground at the checkpoint,
which Lenore enjoyed.

More walkers arrived at the checkpoint while Lenore was playing.

We crossed the railroad tracks several times.

Historical Marker for a tree where the judge held court
until the courthouse was built.

Clock tower on the courthouse.

This walker caught up with us while we were stopped
taking pictures of the courthouse.

It says "BANK" in the stonework of this building on the square,
but it is now an opera house.

Unique structure on the courhouse square that houses a Confederate Museum.

Nice climbing tree at the Library.

Getting our books stamped at the finish.
