Paint Rock
Volksmarch Held 05/01/04

Darlene and Pat were the volunteers
working the start location.

County Courthouse was built in 1886.
Note it has screen doors!

Bird of Paradise Tree and
red climbing roses.

Nice home on a corner lot.

Fat cat yard decoration.

Methodist Church. Note all the streets are gravel.

An old gas station. I don't recall this town
having an open station.

Carol and Lenore walking on a telephone pole.

The walk headed out the main highway.
This walker is on his way back in..

The wildflower along the edge
of the highway..

We walked to the edge of town.
Paint Rock has only 320 residents and it is the county seat

The walk route took us through
the cemetery

Clara and Helen were working checkpoint #2.

After leaving the cemetery we
headed out a ranch road.

Walkers on their way back in.

We turned around when we got to this ranch.

Climbing on the wall gave
Lenore a break from walking.

Our volksmarch model.

Back on the main highway.
The lead walkers came over from Houston for this walk!

The church steeple.

They had moved the start over under the gas station.
David was working the finish.
